"As a part of the continuing duties imposed on a trustee for the management of a debtor’s estate, he or she must routinely notify the bankruptcy court if any transactions are made that affect title to any of the assets listed in the inventory filed by the trustee. This form gives notice to the court of a sale of some of the property listed in the inventory and confirms whether the whole purchase price has been paid. If any of the price is outstanding, the memorandum confirms when the balance is to be paid. Further note that the relevant history leading to the sale must be memorialized, e.g. that an objection to the sale had been lodged, that the sale has been authorized or ordered by a particular Judge, and so on."
