"This legal form assumes that the parties to a broken marriage are still able to talk to each other and reach a comprehensive agreement about the distribution of their family property including questions of who shall reside in the ex-matrimonial home, what shall happen to outstanding debts, and so on. If the parties are in fact able to reach agreement, it preserves whatever is left of the goodwill between them and it saves significant amounts of money that would otherwise be paid to attorneys to fight over the property. As and when the divorce is imminent, an agreement based on this form can be presented to the court for inclusion in the final order. However, the terms themselves are very sketchy. They indicate what needs to be agreed, but you should have them customized to fit the detail of what is actually agreed between actual parties. "
